Happy Sunday. I began today with a period of stretching. I did this for a couple of reasons. The first is because I had back pain this morning, so I did the stretches my chiropractor taught me to try and loosen up the back muscles. The 2nd reason was because it had been a long time since I last did morning stretching and I'm trying to get back into the habit since we're planning on purchasing a piece of exercise equipment for the house and I want to be in the practice of stretching before exercising once that piece of equipment is delivered. After completing my stretches, I went for a 1.7 mile morning walk (per my Strava app). I stepped in dog poo & tried to clean my shoes the best I could, but I couldn't remove all of it, so my new shoes are now sitting outside on our front porch. I attended adult sunday school and church this morning. I was volunteered to be the liturgist during the service (we seem to have a small rotation going on). The scripture reading was P

Today is Martin Luther King Day, when we celebrate the life of a black civil rights leader who was killed in 1968. It's also a 3-day weekend. Here are the highlights: Sister and husband arrived here on Friday night, Jan. 12th. Spent the evening playing Apples to Apples card game. Completed spring registration on Saturday, January 13th and then came back home to have Japanese snack food, "takoyaki" & "okonomiyaki" for lunch with Mrs. Pitt, Digger, and Digger 2.0. We were not able to go to the Mexican seafood restaurant because they forgot their passports. We then went to Old Bisbee and walked around looking in antique shops and other stores. Found a full, 12-place setting Noritake china set for a good price at antique shop in Old Bisbee and put it on hold for 1 week. We've decided to purchase it. Unsure at this time where we store/display it. Might need to purchase a china cabinet/old secretary to display/store china set. Drank a small cup of espr

Slept in until after 8am today. Paid bills and the left for sunday school at 1145. Gave message/sermon at church today. It was very short. Lunch was a tortilla chip salad dish with a fruit bundt cake for dessert. Cake was not delicious. Took down front yard christmas decorations & lights. Took about 1 hour. Boxed up lights per Wife's instructions. Will probably take down tree lights & decorations tomorrow night. Made dinner tonight; short rings & rice w/ vegetables. Short ribs were from this year's steer. Very tough. Should probably cook the in liquid & crock pot next time. Sent text to MLP about it. Paid master card balance payment today. Should have enough available credit to order  indoor cycle trainer next week or week after. Looking forward to exercising again. Talked with dad today. He proposed family trivia name be "Tri-Continental" since our family members from 3 different continents. He admitted he's not very creative in coming up

2018: Day 2

Today was 1st day back after winter break. I drank too much coffee and felt jittery today. I should not drink 3 large cups of coffee on an empty stomach after not drinking coffee for 4-5 days.  Wife has told me that her cousin wants to come to the U.S. for my sister's U.S. wedding party and she asked about us paying all or part of his ticket; estimated at $900 right now.  Very warm today. People in other states are jealous of AZ winter weather Boss approved leave for jury summons on 1/11. Will have to use different leave type if selected.  Mom, Dad, Digger, and Digger 2 still traveling today. Probably made it to Demming, NM. We stayed there last year on way back from CO. Not a very exciting place. No alcohol served in restaurants. No margaritas in a Mexican restaurant.  Christmas decorations are still up. Not when they're coming down. Probably should complete 1 task each night.

Happy New Year

Today is the 1st day of the year and I have resolved to write a little about each day this year with the intention of having 365 new entries on this blog in one year.  Today, Wife & I spent the day together at home. We have been sick with the flu since the 27th of December, with wife being more worse off than I, so we took another day to recover  even though both of us are feeling much better.  We called my dad today to wish him happy new year and happy birthday. He is with mom, Erin, and Geni in Colorado visiting mom's family.  I called my aunt Mary Lou today too and talked with her for about 40 minutes. She thanked us for sending her a christmas gift which was a thermometer that also measures the humidity in the air.  I called my cousin Vanessa, but she did not answer, so I left her a message, but she did not call me back.  I also called my sister Erin and her husband Geni and talked about a trip to Phoenix we are planning on taking together January 27th & 28th.
